CityCraft — build a city, then defend it
CityCraft is a free browser city-builder crossed with tower defense. Build houses, shops, towers, and parks so citizens move in and spend money, then defend them — and your City Core — with walls and turrets when the wave arrives. No download, plays instantly on desktop and mobile. Built with three.js.
How to play
- Pick a building from the toolbar and tap a grid cell to place it.
- There are two resources. Cash builds everything, so turrets and city buildings compete for the same money, and it comes almost entirely from your city: houses, shops and towers house citizens, who walk to whatever is worth visiting and pay you when they arrive. Parks pay the most, because tourists visit them. Clearing a wave also pays a lump sum from every building left standing, and a park adds bonus income to each building beside it.
- Scrap is recovered from destroyed attackers and can only be spent on repairs — it can never become a building. Killing things will not fund your defence, so a city that does not build an economy cannot afford to defend itself. Starting a wave early pays scrap rather than cash.
- Turrets are the only buildings that deal damage; the circle shown while placing one is its range. Walls do not shoot — they are cheap hit points that bend the attackers' route the long way around. During the build phase a dotted trail shows the exact route attackers will walk.
- Attackers spawn from the marked edges. Most march on the City Core, raiders head for your nearest building instead, and brutes take far more killing. All of them will trample any citizen they touch, and citizens flee when one gets close.
- Start a wave early for a cash bonus, or wait for the build timer to run out. The game ends when the City Core is destroyed — your score is the wave you reached.
Drag to orbit the camera, scroll to zoom. Keyboard shortcuts: 1–6 select a building, B bulldozes for a 50% refund, Space starts the next wave, and P or Escape pauses.
